R&D Gas Engineer – Salisbury, SA.
Reporting to the R&D Manager, the successful applicant will preferably be a degree qualified Mechanical engineer or have a mechanical technical qualification and will be involved in design, development, testing and manufacture of heating and cooling appliances, other products suitable for operation divisions of the company, accessories, prototypes and systems with a key focus on product quality, reliability and performance.
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have a strong mechanical background and have obtained experience with gas products, SolidWorks modelling (or equivalent), prototyping and testing. HVAC experience is preferred but not mandatory. An electrical disconnect/reconnect licence or a refrigeration licence would be a distinct advantage.
Working with a small team of engineers the successful applicant will meet the following criteria :
** Have a minimum of 2 years engineering experience
** Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to provide technical advice where needed and will be able to communicate with technical agencies & global standards bureaus where appropriate.
** Have project co-ordination skills and the ability to undertake tasks without direct supervision and work within tight time frames.
** A proven understanding that good design will ensure ease of production in a safe working environment.
** Knowledge of relevant current Regulatory requirements and Australian Standards
** Computer literacy is essential using the Microsoft Office Suite.
Duties will include, but are not limited to :
** Designing and development of new products and improvements to existing products with a focus on gas products.
** Providing technical support on gas products to other areas of the organisation.
** Building and assisting with prototyping, testing, drawings, programming & implementation of changes through to production.
** Maintaining detailed project management files including technical specifications, schedules and expenditure.
** Ensuring products meet Government Regulatory requirements and obtaining required approvals
** Contribute to the operation of test facilities
