Setter/Operator Caliper Cell :
Reporting to : Shift Leader Caliper Cell
Prime Objective :
Through the use of own engineering skills and under instruction from shift leader to assist in the efficient running of cell in order to meet agreed delivery and quality targets
Responsibilities :-
** To help ensure that the cell output is made to the agreed schedules
** To ensure the quality of machine output is to set specification
** To run proven programs, adjust work co-ordinates and correct any errors
** Carry out 1st off inspection from engineering drawings and update paperwork
** Conformance to Health and Safety requirements and to encourage best practice at all times
** To assist in the application of continuous improvement techniques / projects, to improve changeover times, standardize tooling and programs in order to continually increase machine uptime
** To maintain and improve the standards of housekeeping.
** To apply machine maintenance as per schedules
** To complete accurately and in a timely fashion all relevant paperwork
** Co-operation and liaison with all other departments, including possible secondment to work in other areas
Key Competencies :
** An accepted level of programming experience. (e.g C & G ).Able to understand and troubleshoot Fanuc based programs
** Experience with operating machining centres
** Full knowledge of machine panel layout & competence in using it.
** The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
** To be able to pre-set tooling and fixtures from tool layout. Take tool length offsets and recognize when tooling requires replacing due to wear or breakage.
** The help solve maintenance issues in the most effective way
** To be able to communicate information in a coherent fashion at all levels
