Solutions Architect :
The Solutions Architect will be responsible for designing and delivering integrated enterprise SCADA solutions for Willowglen System clients implementing our SCADACOM product in key market segments such as Oil and Gas, Pipelines, MetroRail, and Power. The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand the customer perspective with respect to their operational business use-needs within their industrial technical system implementation environment.

Main Responsibilities :
** Design, customize, and implement enterprise SCADA control center solutions that fulfill customer’s operational performance needs.
** Ability to review and compare customers’ existing system with ideal architecture, and recommend design improvements.
** Assist software application developers and other project resources defining specific solution components with technical issues and decisions consistent with architecture standards and plans.
** Be aware of the technology investment roadmap defined for the business domain impacted by assigned projects and initiatives.
** Raise project solution risks and issues with the appropriate Lead Architect where project solutions deviate from the roadmap and / or significant opportunities exists to accelerate realization of business value are identified.
** Develop and maintain working knowledge of the tools and repositories used by Willowglen to manage the enterprise architecture.
** Effectively engage with software development, IT operations personnel, and other subject matter experts within and outside Willowglen to address their concerns and add value to the enterprise SCADA solution.
** Maintain an understanding of and champion the Willowglen Architecture Roadmap Process and participate in this process filling the role of Subject Matter Expert and/or change champion.
** Possess comprehensive understanding of, participate in, and champion the architecture project solution architecture review process and its integration in the Willowglen standard Software Development Life Cycle.
** Possess a basic understanding of the long term Willowglen application portfolio roadmap and direction specific to the business domain assigned.
** Be able to read and understand the business component model diagrams, data model diagrams, infrastructure deployment models, logical application designs, and business process diagrams.
** Facilitate internal and customer meetings.
** Presales involvement on development of technical solution bids and quotes.
Travel to the customer site will be required from time to time.

Create architecture solution design deliverables consistent with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) :
** Functional Design Specifications
** Design Documents
** User Interface Specifications
** Technical Architecture Documents

Qualifications :
Required :
** BSc (minimum) in Engineering, Computer Science, or comparable area of studies – or equivalent.
** 7 or more years of industrial experience, ideally in control centers or related areas.
** Leadership / presentation skills – working with the customer, development, and implementation teams.
** Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as interpersonal skills.
** Must have proven multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
** Must have excellent analytical and computational skills.

Considered an asset to also have the following :
** Expert experience building enterprise applications using the Javascript / C++ Platform
** Experience with TOGAF and UML

Experience with any of the following technologies :
** Javascript / Sencha Framework
** C++ / QT Library
** SQL (Sybase)
** UNIX (Solaris and/or Red Hat Linux)

A candidate will have the ability to work in an Industrial Manufacturing Environment.
