Firmware Engineer (R&D) :
Duties :
** Develop firmware requirements and specifications for application peripherals and subsystems for Metering and AMR (Wired and Wireless) products
** Translate firmware specifications into concrete planning and design
** Ensure optimal performance of firmware for embedded systems and functions
** Partition and map requirements into firmware implementations
** Code new features and functionalities into reference designs and evaluation platform
** Define test requirements and procedures for firmware development and verification
** Write documents for requirement, specification, design, analysis, performance, simulation, test procedure, etc
** Develop firmware using target processing platform development tools
** Debug codes and help other engineers debug theirs

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities :
** Familiarity with embedded systems architecture and development methodologies are a must
** Hands-on experience with industry standard Real Time Operating Systems is required
** Experience with Wireless products is desirable
** Understanding of communication protocols per IEC for metering applications will be a plus
** Programming skills in C/C++, MCU assembly languages
** Hands-on experience with product development for volume production
** Having experience in TCP/IP protocols on small foot print processors would be a plus

Education And Work Experience :
** Bachelor degree or above, major in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
** At least 5 years practical engineering experience in firmware design and development
