RMS Engineer : Data Centre & Application Services
Job Purpose :
The successful candidate will be a part of the Reactive Management Services (RMS) Team with responsibility for troubleshooting and diagnosing customer related Data Centre & Application incidents; including resolution. Additional functions may include the design, integration, testing, implementation, development and maintenance of customer systems and solutions.

This position reports to the Team Leader, RMS (Data Centre & Application Support).

Key Duties and Responsibilities :
** Remote delivery of maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic services in line with agreed service levels and international best practices
** Maintain, optimize and upgrade applications supporting data centre and virtualized environments
** Provide timely and detailed reports on activities in customer environments,
** Ensure speedy resolution of problems and initiate prudent and timely escalations with third parties, as required
** Conduct technical assessments and provide consultation to customers and colleagues, as required

Technical Skills & Experience :
1. Possess minimum five (5) years related work experience in an IT environment or equivalent
2. Requires key technical competence in three (3) of the following five (5) areas :
** Hardware & Operating Systems (Dell, Fujitsu, Windows, *nix)
** Storage and Backup Services (Fujitsu, Hitachi, Symantec)
** Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) o Database & Directory Systems (MS SQL, Active Directory, Oracle DB)
** Collaboration & Messaging Systems (MS SharePoint, Lync, Exchange)
3. Training in information system technologies evidenced by relevant certifications in the aforementioned
4. Experienced in proven analytical and problem solving methodologies

Academic Qualifications :
A Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology

Travel Requirements :
** Local travel requires that the candidate own and use his/her personal vehicle for site visits as may be required
** Regional/International travel may be required from time to time for training or customer site visits
