Summary :
Established in 1974, The College of The Bahamas is the national higher education institution of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas. With an enrolment of almost 5000 students, the College offers master, bachelor and associate degrees.

The Counselling and Health Services Department is seeking a Nurse Counsellor. This position will plan, develop, and oversee the day-to-day clinical activities.

Duties And Responsibilities :
** Provides first-aid treatment in emergency situations and initiates prompt follow-up as medically necessary.
** Conducts health screening for blood pressure, urine testing, weight, height, diabetes and refers ‘at risk’ patients for treatment where necessary.
** Refers students, faculty, and staff to the appropriate community resource agencies for continuance of health care.
** Develops and maintains links with other health care providers and related agencies in order to manage the referral process more effectively.
** Schedules times for individual health counseling with students.
** Maintains accurate and complete records of health clinic activities.
** Promotes wellness for all segments of The College community by coordinating and implementing health seminars and related workshops.
** Reviews all health related admission documents and gives clearance for registration when all requirements are satisfied.
** Works in concert with other college officials to develop a plan for disaster preparedness (fire, hurricane, etc.) for The College in collaboration with the National Disaster Planning Committee.
** Participates in departmental general and professional meetings and apprises department and colleagues of peculiar developments.
** Prepare and submits summary reports and other required documents periodically as required.
** Conducts research and uses findings to inform future plans for the health clinic.
** Supervises the part-time Nurse(s).
** Participating in departmental projects and registration activities;
** Engaging in research and scholarly activities with the potential for scholarly publication;
** Serving on departmental, School and college-wide committees;

Qualifications :
** An earned master degree in Nursing or relevant area/discipline from an accredited institution;
** A minimum of five (5) years nursing experience and
** Evidence of research and scholarship.

Salary Grade :
TM – Master’s Degree
$37,660- $63,310
