PRODUCTION MANAGER :
RESPONSIBILITIES :
** Management of field and marketing departments
** Develop a seed marketing plant
** Develop and implement seed production contracts
** Provide General crop production advice
** Provide seed phytosanitary inspections in the field and storage
** Develop and implement seed production related research plans
** Co- ordinate purity and germination tests
** Develop budgets for seed business and crops
** Co- ordinates the field department and marketing
QUALIFICATIONS :
** B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture (Crop Science)
** M:Sc in Agronomy would be an added advantage
** At least 5yrs practical experince in seed production
** Knowledge of seed certification for maize, wheat, sorghum, dry beans, millets, cowpeas, rapoko, soyabeans, cotton, potato and vegitable seed
** Ability to communicate at all levels

FARM SECTION HEADS :

DUTIES :
Reporting to the production Agronomist, the succesful candidate will be responsible for
** Labour allocation and management
** Implementation of day- day farming programmes
** Ensuring safe and efficient use of farm machinery and implements within their respective sections
** Training employees on safe of chemicals and general crop handling
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
** A diploma in horticulture or Agriculture
** A minimum of two years experience in the management of horticultural produce
** Proven ability to manage labour (a supervisory qualification will be an added advantage)
** Ability to work under minimum supervision
** Mature and sober character
