Intermediary Key Account Manager :
** Applications are sought for the role of Intermediary Key Account Manager (KAM).
** This role’s primary responsibility is for growing profitable RSA business across the Munster region.

What this job is really like:
** This role manages relationships with a portfolio of key intermediary accounts and/or identifies and converts new account opportunities, to drive profitable revenue growth.
** You will develop, agree and manage individual account plans and sales pipelines and/or identify, qualify and close new business opportunities, working with marketing, sales, operations, claims and underwriting colleagues to ensure successful delivery.
** You will also be involved in the management of bids and will coach and develop less experienced colleagues.

Jobholders are typically responsible for:
** Your primary responsibility is to grow profitable RSA business with your existing intermediary accounts and/or with new accounts, through defending renewal business and creating new business opportunities.
** Build and maintain relationships within assigned intermediary organisations to thoroughly understand their strategy, culture, personalities, customer base and decision making and ensure they fully understand RSA’s propositions.
** Develop, agree and maintain a yearly account plan for each allocated intermediary to achieve sales strategy and targets.
** Manage the overall sales pipeline with these intermediaries to ensure RSA achieves its annual sales targets.
** Lead the identification, planning, qualification and winning of new key account relationships to grow the portfolio of intermerdiary accounts in line with sales strategy.
** Manage the effective delivery of account plans and/or winning of new business, involving marketing, sales, operations, claims and underwriting colleagues, to ensure RSA achieves the required service and performance.
** Be a recognised expert in applying best practice sales techniques and tools and demonstrating the Customer Obsession, fully exploiting your skills, knowledge and experience and RSA’s investment in your training and development.
** Comply with the required standards of sales excellence and best practice and operating effectiveness and efficiency, and Group, legal and regulatory requirements.
** Development and delivery of relationship management plans that will help to develop RSA in the local business community through active participation in local projects eg Chamber of Commerce, Insurance Institutes etc.
** Internal and external negotiation in support of profitable new business growth and renewal retention.
** Pipeline management on rolling monthly basis.
** Weekly completion of call plan and capture of feedback on Broker Management System.
** Monthly provisions of status report for area demonstrating clear grip on broker panel with clear action plans for each key broker.

This job will typically be measured with the following KPI’s:
** Achievement of annual sales targets
** Clear account plan for each intermediary that has buy in from the intermediary and within RSA
** Profitability of the intermediary accounts
** Quality of intermediary relationships and associated feedback/satisfaction scores
** Application of RSA sales and marketing best practice and return on training and development investment
** Application of RSA Brand Beliefs to these accounts and their customers
** Clear articulatiion of RSA’s risk appetite to intermediaries and customers
** Feedback from RSA sales and other colleagues

Size & Scope:
** Reports to the Director of Commercial Lines Sales and Marketing
** This role will involve extensive travel primarily throughout the Munster Region, and other regions from time to time, and the broker panel may be subject to change.

Jobholder Requirements:
** Relevant Insurance Qualification
** Previous experience of building relationships with with Senior Exective Management
** Previous experience in a similar role within the insurance industry

Regulatory Requirements:
** Demonstrate full compliance with all legal requirements and all relevant RSA policies.
** Full compliance with CPD requirements, where applicable.
** This role is subject to the Fitness and Probity Standards (“The Standards”), issued under section 50 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 and any subsequent amendments. The role holder must ensure they are fully aware of the standards and in a position to fully comply with them at all times.
